The central government announced good news for labours working under MGNREGA. The government has announced a hike in the wages for the workers working under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (MGNREGA) scheme for the Financial Year:2020-2021. The average hike in the wages will be under Rs 20 to Rs 201 per day as per the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman’s Press Release.
To all states and union territories (UTs), new wages will be applicable from 1st April 2020. Now the budget of the MNREGA scheme has been revised to Rs.71,001 crore from Rs.60,000 crore for the Financial Year:2020-2021. The budget is altered due to the economic slowdown and demand for work under the MGNREGA scheme.
From all the states, Maharashtra & Dadra and Nagar Haveli gets the highest hike in the wages of Rs.32. And Rs.34, respectively. Please check the below-mentioned table to check revised state-wise wage rates.

Labours were not happy with the wages allocated by the government, and they are also facing late payment issues. Now the labours are demanding Rs.600 per day wage.
